The Gallery Opening

It’s been a few days since the Blue Frog Gallery’s Grand Opening parties. I’ve been on a bit of a high since this past Saturday, I’m finding it hard to concentrate. But I must come down & deal with reality.
So, this weekend was a blast – there was so much energy around the gallery on Saturday night, people were flowing regularly into the small space, a good crowd, good munchies & wine. I met several other artists that the Blue Frog represents, and they are definitely my kind of people.
I got so many complements on my bags & books, but the biggest complements came from those who bought them. I sold 2 bags and 2 books that weekend and I couldn’t have been happier. I suppose the fact that my stuff is among the least expensive in the place helped a bit. I didn’t think I’d sell anything.
Joanne, the creative director/co-owner of the gallery is incredible. She’s so supportive and very encouraging, and she seems committed to helping me have a go at it all.
I haven’t made anything for the gallery to keep up my stock this week… and trying to keep a husband happy, working a full-time job and trying to start up a career in designing handbags & journals is rough. I have lists upon lists & some weeks I get ‘em done and some I don’t. This is one of the “don’t” weeks.
Just gotta roll with it, I guess!
I’ll see if I can get some pictures from the opening. I didn’t bring a camera – I always forget!
