Studio update

This time last year I went through a huge reorganizing project for my studio. I had intended on painting the walls, but I never got that far. Last week I decided to paint my walls in my studio, but first I had to clean (again!). I tend to go on sprees of making stuff and neglect to put things away when I’m done. So when the spree dies off, I’m left with a major mess. I couldn’t walk into my studio without stepping on or tripping over supplies & other detritus on the floor. So I took 2 days (!) and cleaned up the studio from top to bottom, threw out 2 bags of trash (the 30 gallon kind) and put everything in its place. I also hung shelves that have been languishing on the floor for a year.

I had two sample containers of paint I got from Sherwin-Williams last year and decided to cover up the paint swatches I put up last year. I used gray to make rounded squares and circles on one wall, and used red paint on the far wall that has the window. Warms up the room tremendously! Here are a few photos of my studio. Still needs a tad more work, but it’s getting way closer to what I had imagined a year ago.

This is one of the walls “before”:
