It’s Tax Time!

Whee.
Shall I expand on how enthusiastic I am?
At least my sister-in-law does our taxes for free, but she needs us to come in before the end of the week.
I have a year’s worth of invoices, sales tax receipts, expenses and junk to wade through – TONIGHT. Why don’t I just keep track of it during the year like a conscientious business person? Right – I’m a big scatterbrained goof who always puts things off ’till the last minute.
It’s already 4 months into the new year and although I’ve resolved to keep track of everything better than I did last year, I have yet to implement a system beyond a big plastic shoebox for receipts.
Perhaps this is the week I finally get myself organized…
perhaps…
If you’re feeling particularly generous, you can help pay my 2008 tax bill. Buy something here or order a custom journal. As a thank you for reading this blog, I’m offering 5% off every order from now ’till April 14th (including custom orders). Just mention the code “IHateTaxes” in the notes to seller field or your custom order form.

Well, if it’s any consolation, you’ve just made me feel a million times better about myself for, um, protaxinating. The creative-process-fueled experience that is Doing My Taxes isn’t yet ready to be born. I’m letting the receipts sit peacefully in that pile underneath the desk until I feel moved, probably closer to the deadline. You’re an inspiration for taking care of your taxes so early! Yay for you!
LOL, we have a different tax time down here in Australia – but I feel your pain!!
I try to enter my invoices into Quickbooks Simple Start at least every couple of months, but from October on, when I’m swamped, um, no. It takes HOURS, so I feel your pain!
oh I so feel your pain – i just picked mine up from the accountant (no CPA sister for me ;( ) and OUCH!!!
I made a resolution to enter all my receipts and stuff to quickbooks at least once a month, and um, yeah, not really working out that way so far.
at least I’m in good company though
I am going to pick my taxes up from the accountant tomorrow and I’m so relieved that this year I had everything organized by the end of February 2009. I never seem to find the time to enter the data into Quickbooks until the new year. But at least mine are done – hope you get yours ready quickly and don’t lose any sleep.
Will you hate me if I tell you that both my business and personal taxes are done and have been done for a while
Actually, no – I don’t hate you
We got ours done last night & we owe (of course) but it’s done & we can get on with our lives! yay!
